Activation Issue With Windows 10 Technical Preview for Enterprise

Problem:

I have installed Windows 10 technical preview, but activation is not accepted.

Resolution:

You don’t need to activate the Technical Preview – it’s activated automatically. The product key provided by Microsoft for Windows 10 Technical Preview for Enterprise is PBHCJ-Q2NYD-2PX34-T2TD6-233PK which is required for recovery scenarios.

To fix the issue:

1.] Open Command Prompt with Administrative privileges.

2.] Type: SLUI 3

3.] Enter  the product key PBHCJ-Q2NYD-2PX34-T2TD6-233PK

  1. Which version are you trying?
There is no need for activation. The Windows 10 Technical Preview shouldn’t require activation, but it is a preview release, so not everything goes as planned.
Instead of build 9841 you should try preview build 9860 that’s the latest one.If you take the Download from HERE the install does not ask for a Key. Although it is using this one, NKJFK-GPHP7-G8C3J-P6JXR-HQRJR. The Download from this page gives Build 9841 and once that is in then, grab Build 9860.

  2. Hi mymce,

thanks, worked like a charm 🙂 Except why can’t I find this information at msdn? I mean, where I would expect it, in this awful evaluation center? Is this a test to select only the determined ones? 😉

    However, thanks-

    with best regards

    Jens

  3. Hello, I had the exact same problem, Using Windows Technical Preview For Enterprise. Build 9860. It showed windows wasn’t activated and said to activate now but each time I tried it showed activation failed which after google searching this appears to be randomly happening but for whatever reason only to certain computers. Anyways thank you Mymce, I tried your advice and it worked like a charm 🙂
